Manchester City faced Nottingham Forest away from home in the 26th round of the Premier League last weekend. Pep Guardiola's team had a difficult mission: to win the match to maintain the lead of the championship and continue the search for the title.
The game started with intensity and Manchester City had the first great chance to score with a shot from Bernardo Silva that hit the post at 5 minutes. However, it was Nottingham Forest who opened the scoring with a header from Lewis Grabban at 23 minutes of the first half.
Manchester City didn't give up and continued to pressure the opponent in search of the equalizer. Finally, at 45 minutes of the first half, Riyad Mahrez scored a perfect shot to tie the game.
The second half began with Manchester City looking for the lead, but it was Nottingham Forest who scored again at 49 minutes with a header from Joe Worrall. The home team played more defensively, making it difficult for Manchester City to attack.
Guardiola's team continued to try and finally managed to tie the game again at 77 minutes with a goal from Gabriel Jesus. However, the draw was not enough to keep the lead of the championship, as Arsenal won their game and took the top spot.
Despite the negative result, Manchester City remains in the title race and needs to recover in the next round to continue dreaming of the title. With 56 points, the team is in second place in the table, just one point behind Arsenal.
